Jakarta, Alam Prathama Sejahtera – Every October 2nd, Indonesia celebrates National Batik Day. This day is not just a celebration, but also a recognition of batik as a rich and valuable cultural heritage. Batik has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2009, signifying its importance as the nation’s identity and culture.
National Batik Day is commemorated with various activities, such as exhibitions, batik design competitions, and seminars on batik. Many people, including government officials and the general public, wear batik as a form of respect for this cultural heritage. In addition, the commemoration of batik day also aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and appreciating local culture.
As an effort to preserve batik, PT Alpras employees participated in wearing batik to the office. Likewise, employees at the Kendari site also celebrate National Batik Day by wearing batik to the office. The variety of batik patterns used illustrates the diversity that is maintained and harmonious in the work environment. Although they come from different cultural backgrounds, they can respect each other’s culture and together preserve the existing culture of Indonesia. It is hoped that the commemoration of Batik Day can foster a sense of love for national culture and can preserve national cultures.
Batik Day is not just about wearing a beautifully patterned cloth, but also about appreciating and preserving the culture that has been passed down from generation to generation. By celebrating Batik Day, we contribute to maintaining our national identity and strengthen our love for our cultural heritage. Let us support and preserve batik, so that its beauty can be enjoyed by future generations.
